Annual Symposia

Each year the Workgroup hosts a one-day symposium focused on a challenging topic at the interface of behavioral health and the criminal or juvenile justice systems that has not received enough inter-disciplinary attention, collaboration, or advocacy. General goals for each symposium include:

  1. Illuminate systemic gaps and inequities
  2. Center lived experience to guide equitable practice and policy
  3. Share practices across systems
  4. Strengthen cross-sector collaboration
  5. Focus on education, participatory research or policy innovation and equity-focused reform
  6. Generate a work product
