Learning Center
Our Speakers Bureau is designed to provide a public platform for people with a range of lived experiences at the intersection of the criminal/juvenile justice and behavioral health systems. These voices must be heard, respected, and incorporated into policy and practice decision-making if we hope to effect transformational change. Goals for our Speakers Bureau
Amplify Diverse Voices: To provide speaking opportunities to people with a rich tapestry of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds within the justice-involved and behavioral health communities in the hopes that such opportunities will serve to challenge stereotypes, dispel myths, and promote understanding.
Advocate for Change: Through powerful narratives and compelling stories, advocate for systemic changes in policies and practices related to the justice system and behavioral health.
Empower and Inspire: Recognize the strength of personal narrative in empowering individuals and inspiring change, hope, resilience, and a sense of agency for professionals and peers.
Foster Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between various stakeholders, fostering collaboration among professionals, policymakers, advocates, and community members. By facilitating open conversations, we aim to create a supportive network that drives collective efforts towards creating a more just and compassionate society.
Educate and Raise Awareness: Through speaking engagements, workshops, and educational initiatives, contribute to raising awareness about the challenges faced by those involved in the justice system with behavioral health concerns. This education is key to dismantling stigma and fostering a more informed and empathetic community.
